Malpica is a small village of 1.800 inhabitants, located in a rural setting very quiet, with many services and a hamlet relevant. But perhaps one of its identity, part of the Parish Church (S. XVII) is its imposing castle at the entrance to the village, Mudejar strength of a square, with massive towers on each corner, with the tribute to southwest where more prominence. It is assumed that the Arabs built in S. X or principle of S. XI along with that of Villalba and Montalban. In S. XIII is reported that belonged to the Knights of the Order of Calatrava. Los quintos se disfrazan de morraches, ataviados con vistosos trajes, caretas, capuchones y cencerros colgados en la cintura que hacen sonar con estruendo por las calles del pueblo. El día 6 de enero suben a la ermita a por el Santo y el día 22 lo devuelven. Otra fiesta digna de mención es en honor a la Virgen de las Nieves en el mes de agosto.

Out of the “Puebla of Montalban” in the direction of San Martin de Montalban, it is worth closer to one of the best kept secrets in the province of Toledo: St. Mary of Melque, Ermita Visigoda next to the ruins of a monastery, Roman dams and a Roman aqueduct. In the same place you can visit the Montalban Castle, it’s the bigger in Toledo province.

Following from la Puebla de Montalban by Toledo’s road in 5 Km. we can find Ecological way with a path that leads to a place of unique beauty: The canyons of Burujón, carcavas and cut red clay that seems fall toward the river Tajo, which in this place retains its waters, a very nice views above in the evenings.

15 minutes from Malpica you can find “Talavera de la Reina” a very nice city to visit, with it double fortress, Santa Maria’s Church, the museum of Ruiz de Luna and its excellent ceramic known everywhere.
And to finish we have to also recommend the visit the city of the three cultures: Toledo; where we don’t need to do any comments.
